BMW E30 Touring trunk side panel lock repair

A piece broke off from the trunk side panel on my E30 Touring (outer section of the lock)
As it's an iX model, the right panel is different and hard to find unlike the normal E30 Touring cover panel, I decided to model a piece to repair the panel.

You can use this piece on both outer sides of the panel, by mirroring the model.
If yours is broken off at the inside sections of the lock, you will need to slightly modify the model.

I removed the remaining pieces that were still there so everything was flush up against the edge where the lock ends (see picture). The new piece is glued on with some high strength super glue.

If the original slide piece and it's spring is missing on your panels, it's still available to order from BMW (51471947370 and 32341156343)

What do you mean exactly? Early model clock (2buttons, digital), late model clock (2 buttons, analog), or OBC-I - here in Ukraine it mostly called 6 buttons clock, not OBC-I =)
But i think its hard to make that faceplate fastenings durable enough it case of 3D printing ways. It needs some testing and special modelling for printing.

BMW E30 - adapter to flush mount the radio

A modification to the heater control panel for the BMW E30 to have the radio flush with the control panel. This adapter sets the radio ~7mm back into the dashboard.

To be able to use this adapter piece, you will need to modify your heater control panel slightly.
The original brim where the radio mounts onto will need to be carefully removed around the whole perimeter (only the bottom brim that is removed is pictured).
(I used a flush cut plier and cleaned it up with a file, a Dremel will also do the job)

The adaptor piece fits onto the existing reinforcement ribs between the upper row of switches, if you prefer, it's possible to add glue here as well. However is should be sufficient to only rely on the three mounting screws (two screws of the OBC/clock and the third screw of the heater control unit, you will need a slightly longer M3x8mm screw)

Orient the print as shown in the pictures, using some supports as well.
I used ABS to print this adapter piece since this area tends to get warm above the heater core

This modification is since now only proven on my BMW Bavaria C Bussiness radio.
If your radio originally also clamped on the small brim around the opening, it should also be able to mount in this adapter.

In a future update I'd like to also include the cut outs of a 1DIN frame to have more mounting options for other radios. Id you happen to have a 3D filet that I can use to included these openings, please let me know to I can update my model!!
